Roaster's Private Stash -Santa Cruz Washed Geisha-

The Roaster’s Private Stash is a collection of award winning coffees from around the globe that our head roaster John has been hoarding for himself… but now we’re making him share.

We’re proud to launch our first offering from the Private Stash, hailing from the cup of excellence winning farm Finca Santa Cruz in the Chiapas region of Mexico. The youngest member of the family, Pepe Jose Argüello Enriquez took over the farm five years ago and redirected efforts into specialty coffee with the goal of demonstrating Mexico’s capability to provide great coffee to the world. He exceeded his ambitions, putting his offerings alongside some of the best coffees on the planet and even being awarded the highest cupping score ever in the history of the Cup of Excellence Mexico in 2019 for his naturally processed Geisha.

This washed Geisha is meticulously grown in La Concordia, Chiapas region. The processing is specific and thoughtful- 36 hour whole cherry aerobic fermentation followed by 24 hour mucilage fermentation, 1 day drying in full sun and 22 days on shaded raised beds. Enriquez takes great care in each factor to produce an elegant and complex cup. Tasting notes are floral and fruity, including jasmine, orange blossom, honey, peach, rose tea and rich caramel. Its body is creamy and coating. Recommended brewed in the Origami or Kalita Dripper with a slightly finer grind than you’d usually use. The coffee truly shines as it cools making it a sip & savor type experience.
